Professional private Instruction


At Fairview Music students will have the opportunity to participate in recitals, contests, and performances. You will find our instructors to be professional, friendly, and well educated. Music & Movement- Explorers(Kids In Motion)

In the “Explorers” class, music is used to encourage physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth. Children sing, dance, and play instruments as they learn about tempo, pitch, and types of instruments. Parents are encouraged to attend with their children to help continue the learning process at home. Music is a wonderful way to bond with your children and is fun for everyone!

In the “Adventurers” class, children are presented with a more in depth understanding of music. They will learn musical terms, solfège, and how to distinguish between the sounds of different instruments through rhythmic games, singing, and listening. This is the perfect class for children that may want to join band or choir in the coming years. Only an interest in play and music is required!

The Rock Shop

This class is designed for students who are looking to gain experience in playing and performing in a group. The Rock Shop will provide students with an exciting and fun atmosphere while giving them the practical experience of performing with others in a live setting. Select classes and songs will be recorded live to enable performance critiques by students and the instructor. Students may enroll in this course more than once.

Just getting started? This class will start you off on the right note! Designed for beginners, students will be introduced to note reading, basic chords, rhythm notation, scales, fifth and bar style chords, finger style picking, as well as simple song structures.

For students who have some experience and are looking to take their music theory knowledge and technique to the next level. Students will focus on different lead and rhythm techniques and further study in chords, scales, and rhythms. Pop/rock standards will be used to demonstrate material.

Woodwind Ensemble

This ensemble is designed for intermediate to advanced flute, clarinet, oboe and saxophone students. Students will study and perform a selection of chamber music, trios, duets and quartets. The course will conclude with a recital performing the works studied in class. Great for students that want to perform pieces outside of the school band curriculum.

Bluegrass Seminar

This two-hour seminar will provide an introduction to bluegrass technique, such as flat-picking and capo use, chord progressions and basic song structure. Students will study three different songs from various time periods. This seminar is designed for intermediate acoustic guitar, bass and banjo students who are looking to broaden their musical technique into this style.

Acoustic Guitar for Electric Players Seminar
